Howland Capital is proud to observe Juneteenth on Monday, June 20th and will be closed in honor of the holiday.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers, led by General Gordon Granger, proclaimed freedom for enslaved people in Texas, which was the last state of the Confederacy with institutional slavery. On June 17, 2021, it became a federal holiday.

Juneteenth is a day of recognition, reflection, restoration, and celebration with the knowledge that our collective work toward perfecting our union continues.
