Howland Capital Management is pleased to announce that on September 4, 2018 Peter H. Dixon joined the firm as a Portfolio Manager and Director of Research.

In addition to managing client portfolios, Peter will be responsible for expanding Howland Capital’s investment analysis capabilities and strengthening our fundamental research process. These efforts will help the firm stay in step with the rapidly evolving investment environment. Howland Capital is steadfast in our commitment to remain independent and is dedicated to serving a wide range of clients including: individuals, families, and small institutions.  The addition of an experienced investment professional like Peter will help us deliver the prudent and personal counsel that our clients have come to expect from Howland Capital.

With more than thirteen years of experience in the investment management industry, Peter brings leadership, portfolio management and analytical expertise to supplement Howland Capital’s existing strong team of analysts and portfolio managers. Prior to joining HCM, Peter spent over a decade in the equity division at Fidelity Management & Research Co., where he worked as a Senior Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager, and Sector Leader. As a Research Analyst, Peter covered domestic and international equities for more than eleven years and was a Portfolio Manager for nearly a decade. He served as sole manager for a number of mutual funds, most recently overseeing roughly $7.5 billion of assets across nine different portfolios. He also was a Sector Leader for more than five years and oversaw a global team of 25 Research Analysts across their offices in Boston, London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Peter graduated from Brown University with a double major in biology (with honors) and music. He earned his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with a double concentration in accounting and analytical finance.

Beyond his passion for investing, Peter is an avid snowboarder and lover of many different types of music. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Board of Trustees of Hebrew SeniorLife. He lives in Chestnut Hill with his wife, Rachel, and their two sons.
