Andrew Swanson is a Portfolio Manager at Howland Capital Management.
Andrew joined Howland Capital in 2024 after working as a portfolio manager, healthcare sector leader, and analyst for fifteen years at Fidelity Investments, primarily for its institutional business. While at Fidelity, Andrew managed institutional assets approaching $1 billion in aggregate. He also directed healthcare research and idea generation at Fidelity Institutional, while also authoring thematic research for the broader Fidelity platform.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Andrew worked as an analyst covering specialty pharmaceuticals at Citi, where he was recognized as a member of the Institutional Investor All-American research team in 2007. Andrew originally joined Citi (then Salomon Smith Barney) in London, where he covered the European pharmaceutical industry. Andrew started his career as an associate at Credit Suisse First Boston, covering large-cap pharma.
Andrew graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science. He lives in Providence, RI, where he enjoys reading, playing tennis, and traveling with his wife Louise and their two daughters.
