Welcome Andrew Swanson

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Andrew Swanson to Howland Capital as a portfolio manager. Andrew has more than 25 years of experience in financial services and brings a passion for investing and client service.

Andrew recently concluded fifteen years at Fidelity Investments, where he advanced from analyst to portfolio manager to sector leader covering healthcare stocks. As sector leader, he oversaw the management of institutional assets nearing $1 billion.

Andrew’s career began at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he covered large-cap pharmaceuticals. From there, he moved to London, where he spent four years as a European pharmaceutical industry analyst with Citigroup (then Salomon Smith Barney). Still with Citi, he returned to New York, where in 2007, he was voted onto Institutional Investor’s 2007 All-American Research Team for his work covering specialty pharmaceuticals.

An alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science with a concentration in finance. Beyond his professional life, he lives in Providence, RI, where he enjoys reading and traveling with his wife Louise and their two daughters. He loves coaching tennis, and his girls become better players with each passing year, though his game never seems to improve.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Andrew Swanson!
