Charles E. Clapp III serves as the President of Howland Capital Management. Charlie focuses on portfolio management and estate planning for a broad range of families. He serves as trustee and personal representative for many of them.
Charlie joined Howland Capital in 1991, after working for Eagle Investment Associates and Drexel Burnham Lambert. He graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington, an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst ® designation. He is a member of the CFA Society Boston. Charlie also serves on the board of National Advisors Trust Company, its Fiduciary and Trust Committee and the Finance Committee of the YWCA-Boston.
He is a twenty-five year rider in the Pan-Mass Challenge, as well as an avid backcountry skier, sailor, and active rower, having won a silver medal in the 1984 Olympics.
