Howland Capital’s Day of Service at St. Francis House

At Howland Capital, we believe in making a difference in our community. Recently, our team had the privilege of volunteering at St. Francis House.

St. Francis House is dedicated to rebuilding lives by providing refuge, resources, and pathways to stability for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty. Their inclusive community operates every day of the year, ensuring individuals can meet their basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Beyond immediate support, St. Francis House employs a holistic approach to helping those they serve address behavioral health, housing, and employment challenges, empowering them to regain dignity and self-determination.

From meal preparation to serving food, sorting clothing donations, and contributing to special events, our employees worked in small groups to help bring St. Francis House’s mission to life. These volunteer shifts offered our team the chance to contribute directly to the work of this vital organization, connecting with both staff and guests along the way.

We are inspired by the impact St. Francis House has in the Greater Boston area. Their commitment to creating pathways to stability and hope is truly inspirational, and we are honored to have played a small part in supporting their important mission.

At Howland Capital, we remain committed to creating positive change and supporting organizations like St. Francis House that transform lives in meaningful ways.

More Than a Sport: Why We Keep Supporting SquashBusters

Cameron was back on the courts this spring for the SquashBusters Derby—and like last year, it was a reminder of why Howland Capital stays committed to this organization. SquashBusters isn’t just about squash. It’s about a student sitting down with a tutor and working through a challenging subject. It’s about young athletes building discipline, resilience, and the habit of showing up. It’s about pathways opening where they might not have existed before.
